2-YEAR DIPLOMA COURSE CONTENT

AIMS:

To provide a strong foundation in essential Islamic sciences. This two-year Diploma is designed to equip students with knowledge and understanding of core Islamic principles and sciences.

  • Number of Lessons Per Week: 4

Assessments and homework (for selected subjects) will be set periodically throughout the year, culminating in a graduation ceremony at the end of the course.

Year 1 Subjects

1. Quranic Arabic & Tafseer (Juz Amma & Surah Kahf)

An introduction to understanding the words of the Quran and reflecting on its language. This subject will cover basic Arabic grammar, enabling students to apply linguistic rules to comprehend fundamental word structures.

2. Seerah

A study of the biography of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), exploring his life, mission, and key events that shaped Islamic history.

3. Hadith & Shama’il

  • Shama’il: A study of the physical and internal attributes of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), covering aspects such as his appearance, mannerisms, bravery, worship, and piety.
  • Hadith: A collection of prophetic traditions, including the words, actions, and tacit approvals of the Prophet (ﷺ). These provide essential guidance for daily Islamic practice.

4. Fiqh (Jurisprudence) – Taharah & Salah

  • Fiqh: The study of Islamic laws derived from sacred sources, providing the foundation needed to fulfill the five pillars of Islam and beyond.
  • Taharah (Purification): Covers all aspects of physical purity, including practical demonstrations on maintaining cleanliness for worship.
  • Salah (Prayer): Includes topics such as:
    • Nullifiers of Salah
    • Modern-day rulings (Masa’il) on prayer timings
    • Praying while traveling (e.g., in airplanes, at universities, and workplaces)
